Anne has been a colleague of mine since 2013 when we began our PhD program together. Through our academic careers, Anne began honing her editing skills with CIIS' Center for Writing and Scholarship as a Fellow. By the time I was ready to defend my dissertation in 2019, Anne was on the editing team, and I did not hesitate to request her as my dissertation technical editor. Have you ever seen a before and after picture? Imagine this testimonial as one in regards to my writing skills and competencies. Since 2015 which is the year that I started my Ph.D. program at California Institute of Integral Studies, I have what is called an “angel” with me; this angel is Anne Kinne. I came from Mexico to the United States in 1996, and saw an opportunity here in the United States that was not available for me in my home country. For me this opportunity was education, and I chose to go to school. This is where Anne came into rescue like all heroes do. This is where my miracle occurred because honestly without her support, I am not sure if my journey would have continued. Now, I am finishing my dissertation. During this time, I got to know Anne as a friend, mentor, writing coach, and as an inspiration.  She inspires anyone that collaborates with her because she listens.
